Move in is Coming!!

We're looking forward to Move-in (or Mew-ve in as we like to call it) and the start of the new academic year. To help make the Move-in process go well for you, we need your help with two things.

First, if you have not submitted your photo yet for your Cornell ID, it's super easy and only takes two minutes. What's stopping you? Don't wait, the form is closing at noon August 9. Thought you already submitted a photo? Please check your to do list to confirm. Please reach out to the Registrar's Office if you think there's an error, have, or need assistance submitting your photo. It's very important to complete this task before your arrival for a smooth check-in. Your Cornell ID is not only used for access into your residential hall, it's also a bus pass, used to access Dining halls, fitness centers, libraries, and academic buildings.

Second, if you have not secured a Move-in time-slot, please do so through the Housing Portal. You can also change your timeslot if your Move-in plans have changed. We use the timeslot information to help with traffic planning, ensuring we have enough staff support, and for other planning to make sure you have the best Move-in experience possible.

Thanks for helping us make your Move-in as positive one.

About Us

Welcome to the Mews Hall and Loving House: the LGBTQ+ Living Learning Unit community page!

Mews Hall is home to over 200 first-year students and Loving House consists of 30 students from all class years. Our community is located on North Campus, conveniently located next to the Appel Commons, Robert Purcell Community Center and the Helen Newman Gym.

The Mews community is committed to providing a high quality living learning experience that allows residents to learn about self and community through opportunities for engagement and leadership. The community is supported by a staff who is trained to help you get acclimated to the Cornell environment, provide on going support and offer fun and educational programs throughout the academic year. Our staff includes 8 Resident Advisors (RAs), a Senior Resident Advisor (SRA) for Mews, an SRA for Loving House, and a Residence Hall Director (RHD). Our community also houses a Faculty in Residence.

In addition to the many hall-wide programs we offer throughout the year, we have a Residence Hall Leadership Organization, supported through the Residential Student Congress (RSC), known as the Mews Community Council. Residents will have the opportunity to serve as representatives for their floors and overall Mews and Loving House Community as well as have the opportunity to run for executive positions within the council. We welcome you to going us in these and other amazing opportunities in Mews.

We hope you enjoy these brief video introductions of the Mews & Loving House communities
