Welcome to Risley!

Hello and Welcome to the Castle!

Prudence Risley Residential College for the Creative and Performing Arts is a North Campus Program House open to all undergraduates. While all Risleyites have an appreciation for the arts, residents and out-of-house members can be from any field. Risley is a student-centered community, with residents leading our three hall councils, seven annual major programs, and other weekly social programs with the help of our residential staff! The connections forged within the Risley community extend way beyond the undergraduate experience - Risleyites remain connected to our community as alumni for decades.

Community Features

Risley Hall is a beautiful facility with many spaces and resources that residents can utilize. Listed below are just a few things that Risley has to offer!

Risley Hall Councils

Risley's hall council, known as Kommittee, meets Sunday evenings to discuss building happenings, allow residents to allocate building funds and spaces, and to touch base with residential staff. In addition, Risley also has two subcommittees: T-Sub, which is focused on affairs of the Risley Theatre; and RMASD, which governs over our fine arts studios. Both meet on Sunday evenings before Kommittee.

Risley Dining

Risley Hall is home to its very own dining hall, which is gluten, tree nut, and peanut free! The Great Hall is modeled after the Christ Church Refectory at Oxford University, and is open weekdays for lunch and dinner. Learn more here.

Creative Spaces

As the Program House for the Arts, Risley Hall is home to a multitude of creative spaces. With 12 fine arts studios, a dance studio, and our very own 81-seat black box theatre, there is no shortage of resources within the Risley community!
